Lois I. Adams, 93

Lois I. Adams, 93, of Austin, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Our House Memory Care where she was a resident for the past few years.

Lois was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Hayfield, Minn., to George P. and Katherine (Chapman) Boysen. She was the youngest of four children. She married Alden “Ray” Adams in Austin on Aug. 24, 1940. Lois assisted Ray in his Powerite Electric Motor shop. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards with her many friends at the Oaks condo in Austin. Lois was a WIBC tournament participant in many bowling tournaments around the country as well as many local bowling leagues. She and Ray enjoyed traveling and big band dancing around the area. Lois was a member of the Elks and American Legion Auxiliaries.

Survivors include her nephew, Irvin “Skip” (Patricia) Boysen, Urbandale, Iowa; many long time friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, on April 21, 2006; parents, George and Katherine; brothers, Irvin (Lucille) Boysen, Alvin Boysen; sister, Frances (Doug) Blunt.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Mayer Funeral Home with Father Donald Zenk officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home on Saturday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude’s Hospice, both in Rochester, Minn.
