The Mower County Humane Society will host a fundraiser at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.

To raise funds, a Humane Society member will sell hand-knitted hats, Newfoundland mittens, children’s sweaters, tea towels, dish cloths, blankets and more.

Monica Hennessy, department chair of anesthesiology at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, will host the event. Though the event used to be for Mayo Clinic employees only, Hennessy has opened it to everybody. All the items for sale are handmade by Hennessy’s 82-year-old mother, Jean Green, who lives in Canada.
