ST. PAUL, Minn. — A 7-foot, marble statue of Jesus with arms outstretched remains on a Mississippi River bluff overlooking downtown St. Paul, despite opposition to its placement.

The city got an anonymous complaint a year ago and council members told Tuan Pham to remove the statue because it was too close to the edge of the bluff.

The City Council also denied an appeal by Pham who emigrated from Vietnam with his wife and 10 children in 1980. Pham bought his bluff home in 2007. Pham tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/u96NZC ) that he is waiting from an official letter from the city, as instructed by his attorney. Pham plans to file a lawsuit if and when he gets one.
