The Austin volleyball team finished on a strong note, but still fell 25-19, 25-11, 25-22 at Mankato West (7-10 overall) Thursday.

The Packers (2-15 overall, 0-8 Big Nine) struggled early in the first two games, but they led the last game throughout until the late stretch.

The Packers were up 20-19 and about to serve in game three when they were called for a rotation violation and they never led gain.

“It’s tough when that happens at the end of a good game, but we played a lot better in game three and we left with a good feeling,” Austin head coach Darica Schneider said.

Austin trailed 14-1 to open the first game.

The Packers will host Albert Lea next Tuesday for their last regular season game. Any fans bringing a canned good will get in free.
