The Superlarks lost their first game of the season and they may have lost their top play-maker in a 26-20 loss at Lanesboro Friday.

Grand Meadow (6-1 overall) led 14-0 after one quarter, but Caleb Leichtnam, who had 115 rushing yards, sustained an injury at some point in the second half. Leichtnam’s injury could be serious, according to GM head coach Gary Sloan.

Lanesboro (5-2 overall) scored off a long kickoff return and a GM fumble to go up 20-14 in the third.

If Leichtnam can’t play in the future, GM would be down to its fourth string quarterback as it’s backups have been hurt as well.

“They were really physcial and they powered the ball on us,” Sloan said. “I give Lanesboro a lot of credit.”
