The Southland volleyball team had its season end in a 25-23, 25-11, 25-21 loss to No. 4 seeded Kenyon/Wanamingo in Subsection 1A tournament play on the road Thursday.

“The girls went all out and left it all on the floor,” Southland head coach Angie Smith said. “We had a rocky season this year but we finished it playing well.”

The fifth-seeded Rebels (9-13 overall) were led by Katie Barthel, who had five kills, 11 assists and 13 digs, Emily Howton had 16 assists and seven digs, Jenna Juenger had nine kills, Brandi Schammel and Jana Schammel had four kills and Kelli Smith had three aces and seven digs.
