The public is invited to a town hall forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 12, at The Arc of Mower County, 401 2nd Ave NE, Austin. The forum is co-sponsored by The Arc Freeborn County and The Arc of Mower County.

The Town hall forum is an excellent opportunity to bring your questions and concerns to engage in a dialogue with your legislators.

Meet your legislators face to face, tell them your concerns, hear what they are doing for you now, what they plan to do for you in the next year, and their commitments to you, make your voice heard regarding budget cuts.

Connection Christmas Party

Join The Arc for a Christmas party from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13 with games, food, gifts and fun with the family.

There is no cost to attend, however you need to register by this Thursday by contacting Jamey Helgeson at (507) 433-8994, extension 102. You can also send an email to jamey.helgeson@arcmowercounty.org.

Sponsored by The Arc of Mower County, The Down Syndrome Connection will be offered quarterly and will not only provide networking and educational opportunities for parents, but provide fun and friendship for individuals with Down Syndrome.

 

Upcoming fundraiser

The People First Chicken Dumpling Soup and Chili Supper and Fudge Sale fundraiser will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27. Tickets will be available starting Dec. 12.

Tickets in advance are $6 per adult (13 and over) and $5 per child (6-12). Tickets can be purchased at the door for $7 per adult and $6 per child. Children 5 and under eat free.

All proceeds will benefit People First of Mower County. Call (507) 433-8994 to purchase tickets. Fudge from Walnut Grove Mercantile will be available to purchase.
