A LeRoy man faces a reckless driving charge for allegedly trying to hit another man with a car Tuesday.
Marshall Lee Ward, 20, is scheduled for arraignment on the misdemeanor count today in Mower County court.
According to a sheriff’s report, the incident occurred in a school parking lot on 404 S Mather St. in LeRoy at around 9:15 p.m.
Ward allegedly backed out of a parking space and then sped forward toward another man, 19, who was standing outside a vehicle, according to multiple witnesses in the parking lot.
That man ran in between two cars and Ward skidded to a stop, the report states.
Ward then backed up and sped toward the other man again. This time, the 19-year-old had to jump out of the way.
The 19-year-old reported the incident to authorities and Ward was arrested later Tuesday in LeRoy.
According to the report, the two were arguing over a female friend.
