Austin lawyer to appear on former Vikings star’s radio show

Austin lawyer Brandon Lawhead said he grew up idolizing Vikings star Chuck Foreman.
Now, he’s lucky enough to talk with him on-air.
Lawhead will join the purple’s second all-time leading rusher Tuesday on his Internet radio show “Spin It!” with Chuck Foreman.
The show will air at 1 p.m. on chuckforeman.net via the Voice America Talk Radio Network.
The two met a few years ago when Lawhead invited his idol to speak at a class reunion.
Foreman accepted the offer and said he’s been good friends with the attorney ever since.
When the former running back debuted his show earlier this month, it was only natural for him to invite Lawhead on as a guest.
The Austin attorney will be making his second appearance Tuesday and said he will mostly discuss “sports and legal issues that bleed into sports.”
The attorney said Foreman, who played with the Vikings from 1973 to 1979, is great to talk with.
“He gives a unique and honest perspective,” Lawhead said.
Foreman said he got some help starting the show from a representative in New York, but he’s taken off and ran with it.
Going into its fourth week, “Spin It!” allows Foreman to discuss the NFL, other sports and even some current events.
Still, starting a new show is tough, and the five-time Pro Bowler said he’s become a rookie all over again.
“When you have to run the thing itself, that’s a different horse to ride,” he said.
To help with the transition, Foreman said he tries to learn from established sports talk veterans in the Twin Cities, but he also gets guests he’s comfortable with, like Lawhead.
“I have great trust in this man,” Foreman said. “Hopefully, I have him on every week.”
Even with that offer, Lawhead said he’ll probably keep his day job at his Oakland Avenue law office.
“I think I’ll stick with being a lawyer,” he said. “(But) it’s very fun to talk with him.”
