Austin schools to host Truth in Taxation hearing

The Austin Public School Board will be busy this Monday.

Board members will receive the district’s annual audit results, along with holding its annual Truth in Taxation hearing.

The district’s payable levy next year is a little more than $7 million, up from $5.9 million last year. The levy increase comes from the $28.9 million referendum that voters passed in November to build a new intermediate school and Woodson Kindergarten Center expansion. The board will also hear an update on those projects.
