Rumors false about Austin High School on lockdown

Breaking news: There’s no lockdown at Austin High School.
Contrary to rumors on Facebook, AHS did not go into lockdown today, according to AHS Principal Brad Bergstrom.
“We’re playing ho-ho-bingo right now as we speak,” Bergstrom said, highlighting the school-wide activity as part of AHS’s Week of Caring, an annual fundraiser.
Bergstrom said there had been no bomb, gun or any lockdown-prompting threats Monday, despite posts on Facebook that said otherwise. Administrators were out and about more often as a result of Week of Caring-related activities, but the school was otherwise safe.
If the school had been on lockdown, district officials would have notified parents. Parents with iPhones can sign up for AHS’s text alert system.
Bergstrom said he would send out information to parents later today.
