The Riverland women’s basketball team closed out its first semester action with a 68-63 win over Southwestern Community College in Riverland Gym Friday.

The Blue Devils (9-4 overall) led throughout as Austin grad Robin Arjes finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

“We did a good job of getting it inside, but then we also struggled with turnovers and let them back in it,” RCC head coach Suzy Hebrink said.

Ashley Lau had 17 points and five assists as she knocked down four threes and Austin grad Sophia Hebrink had two points and five assists.

RCC will be on break until Jan. 4.
