“Lisa proved today why she is so highly regarded in the region,” Pacelli head coach Mark Henderson said. ”This is historically the best region in the state for girls tennis in class 1A, and she knows how tough her matches next week will be. Overall, this was a good day for Pacelli tennis.”

Pacelli’s No. 2 singles player Lauren Rieker beat a player from New Life Academy 6-2, 6-1 and then she fell to Courtney Rust of Lourdes 6-0, 6-1.

The Shamrocks’ No. 1 doubles team of Abby Leif and Steph Kocer beat a team from New Life Academy 6-0, 6-1, but they fell to Margaret Pearson and Brittany Alexander of Lourdes 6-0, 6-0.

“We had strong starts to the day for Lauren and the #1 doubles girls, but they had exceptionally tough draws in the second round,” Henderson said. “I feel great about the seasons those girls had, and it gives us something to look forward to next year.”

The Shamrocks’ No. 2 doubles team of Lindsey Chapek and Katharina Esch, who lost to Stewartville 8-5.
