Lorraine Hensel, 86, died Dec. 13, 2011.

Lorraine Hensel (Neubauer) was born in Austin, Minn., to Fred and Marian Neubauer. She moved to Colorado from Minnesota in 1949. A graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., Lorraine began her career in Colorado as a secretary for the city of Denver, she later became a social worker. She worked for Denver Public Schools as a teacher and job placement officer. The last 20 years of her career were at Emily Griffith Opportunity School.

Mrs. Hensel is survived by her nieces, Diane Wacholz and Denise Neubauer of Minnesota and her stepchildren, Gordon Hensel of Utah, Betsy Crisswell of Colorado, and Chris Medina of Texas. She is also survived by five step-grandchildren.

Lorraine will be missed by her friends as well as her relatives. Interment will be in Austin.
