The Lyle/Pacelli football team fell to Houston 41-24 on the road Friday.
The Athletics (1-5 overall, 1-4 SEC) took on a new quarterback in Brady Stier, who ran for 172 yards and two scores, and they jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.
“Brady did a good job for it being his first start, he used his fet and he made some things happen,” L/P head coach Mark Buntje said. “This is the best we’ve looked on offense all season.”
Garrett Jenkins had 60 yards of offense and a score for L/P.
“Garret played a great game and he always does a nice job on blocking, so it was nice to get him in the end zone,” Buntje said.
Houston (5-1 overall, 5-0 SEC) was paced by Tye Carrier, who had 152 yards on 10 carries and two scores, while catching four passes for 85 yards and one touchdown.
Carter Guthmiller, Michael Lonergan and Kyle Meyer sat out of the game for L/P with injuries.
