Not the Christmas I know

“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.” — Abe Lincoln
There’s something about Christmas this year that shed some of the things I purchased at Younkers. I forgot that I cancelled the order after a change of mind thinking they might be in question.
The bag of items that I picked up at Younkers that I brought down to the electric Christmas tree did not have what I thought I purchased…it took awhile before it dawned on me.
I’ll certainly try not to do that again.
I think the confusion was the near-summer conditions that occupied Christmas, keeping the snow way up in the sky or letting it fall in some other places. Maybe the four to twelve shift I worked mixed things around.
Now Christmas has come and gone and taken all the snow that did fall away.
Maybe my purchase of a new snow shovel for $7.50 in that big furniture store in Rochester was not necessary.
The boys were home for Christmas and that was nice. Then I had to think back to my early 20’s and whether I got up in the morning before noon.
But now Christmas sheds its coat and New Year’s Eve will arrive with the paper that might include some New Year’s Eve information. And I hope you all have a safe New Years.
As for Mello and Fred, they are presently biting each other’s body parts. They seem to prefer each other’s heads, ears, feet. I just told Fred “that’s enough.” I think one of their preferred chew things got pushed inside the couch. Mello hides things and Fred goes after them.
Ptolme, the cat just sits a little ways away watching the wrestling. Ptolme , then stops by wanting some cat treats to chew on. I have to over see it so Mello and Fred don’t eat the food. I supervise them.
Happy New Year.
