An Austin woman faces two felony drug charges for allegedly taking prescription pills from several people, including her daughter and a former client at a Twin Cities-based health care center.

Debra Kay Dorr, 48, has been summoned to appear in Mower County court on July 15.

According to a criminal complaint filed last week, Dorr’s 17-year-old daughter called her county correctional services agent on May 28 to report that her prescription pain medications had been taken. The daughter said she found the pills, along with several other people’s pills, with her mother’s stuff.

Austin police later spoke with Dorr, who said she couldn’t explain how she had come across the medications. In all, police recovered seven different pill bottles, which contained various pain medications and antibiotics.

One of the bottles belonged to a 62-year-old man who used to live in Austin but now resides in Texas. Police contacted the man, who said the defendant had come over to his Austin residence on at least one occasion and that she must have taken the bottle from his cabinet, the complaint states.

Another bottle belonged to an individual who had been treated at Accurate Health Care in the Twin Cities. Records obtained by police indicate that Dorr had been employed there and that the individual was a client during that time.

The complaint does not state the exact relationship between Dorr and the other individual.
