Two people died Sunday afternoon after a rollover on Interstate 90 one mile west of the Bricelyn exit.
The fatal crash was the first one reported on Minnesota roads for 2012, according to the State Patrol’s online records.
Icy road conditions contributed to the crash, in which Randy L. Fjeld, 45, and Sally D. Tadych, 44, both of Circle Pines, reportedly died, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Authorities state Fjeld and Tadych were in a 2004 Ford Super Duty truck — hauling a snowmobile trailer — eastbound on I-90 near mile 133 when the truck went into the center median and rolled, landing in the westbound lane of the interstate around 2:15 p.m.
Neither were reportedly wearing a seat belt. Fjeld was listed as the driver.
The State Patrol was assisted by the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Bricelyn fire and ambulance crews and Frost ambulance crews.
