Adeline N. Cotter, age 96, a former Austin resident, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, in Vista, Calif.

Adeline was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Austin, Minn. to Rosco and Irene (Benda) Dial. She was married April 20, 1940, to Kenneth Cotter in the St. Augustine Rectory and they celebrated 56 years together. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and her family was the love of her life.

She leaves to mourn her three daughters and son in law: Marlene Helsene, Fallbrook, Calif., Carole Finnerty, San Diego, Calif. and Janice and Richard Schmitz, Bonney Lake, Wash., eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister Julia Parnacott, Alma, Mich. and sister in law, Grace Cotter, Austin, Minn.

She is preceded in death by husband Kenneth on April 21, 1994, infant daughter Ruth Marie, her parents, two brothers and one sister.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. There will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary on Sunday at Mayer Funeral Home where friends may call from 4 to 5 p.m. and also one hour before the service at the church on Monday.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
