Two accidents involving teenage drivers occurred over the weekend — both leading to injuries.

Brianna Johnson, 18, was transported to Austin Medical Center and treated for neck and chest pains after the car in which she was riding smashed into a utility pole in Marcusen Park Friday evening.

Johnson complained of difficulty breathing after the crash and was taken to AMC by ambulance. Jonathon Preuss, 18, was driving the 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra, and another passenger, Hannah Baumgartner, 18, sustained injuries to her lower lip with abrasions to her knee and leg.

The police report made no mention of any injuries sustained by Preuss.

Preuss told police the accelerator pedal stuck and he was unable to stop.

Preuss was cited with reckless driving, and Austin Utilities was notified of the snapped utility pole.

Emma Waters, 16, was taken to Austin Medical Center by her mother after she rolled her car on a gravel road in Dexter Township Saturday morning.

Waters had been traveling 55 mph on 640th Avenue about one-fourth a mile south of 250th Street when she lost control of her 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra and rolled, according to reports.

She had injuries to her head and arms.
