Donald A. Anderson, 70, of Maple Plain, died at his home on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010.

Donald was born on Sept. 2, 1940 to Arthur and Hazel (Fossum) Anderson.

Don taught and coached at Delano High School. He was an 18-year member of the Orono School Board, a Hennepin County Emergency Management Director and recently an Environmental Specialist for FEMA.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Dierdre (Gilyard); children: Shahn (Wanda) Anderson; Tim (Jenny) Anderson; Mindy (John) McQuillan; grandchildren: Nikki, Jade, Sophie & Kalli Anderson; sisters: Janet Venem (Al Kaufman); Barb (John) Thomson; many loving nephews, relatives and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Hazel Anderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Christ Lutheran Church 5084 Main St. Maple Plain with Minister, Dave Garwick officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rettinger Funeral Home, 425 Lake St. Long Lake and also one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment will be at Lewis cemetery in Maple Plain.
