Irwin A. Erickson, 99

Irwin A. Erickson, 99 of Minneapolis, formally of the Taopi area, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at the Augustana Care Center in Minneapolis.

He was born on Dec. 14, 1910, to Iver Erickson and Anna Severson. He grew up in the Taopi area, later moving to Minneapolis, where he retired after several decades working for the Zinsmaster Bakery. He regularly attended the The First Baptist Church in Minneapolis and enjoyed his cars. He was always quick to strike up a conversation and many referred to him as a very nice, gentle man.

Graveside services for Irwin A. Erickson will be held 1p.m., Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Taopi with Rev. Joe Haynes of the First Baptist Church of Spring Valley officiating. There will be a visitation from 11a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy.

He is survived by nieces: Cordelia Whitney, Elaine Wiebrand, Shirley Tapp; nephews: Ray Monson, Alan Monson; many great nieces, nephews; great-great nieces and nephews and even, great-great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iver and Anna Erickson; sisters, Blanche Whitney and Elva Monson; brothers, Sherwin Erickson and Flyod Erickson.
