An Austin man said his residence was burglarized for the second time in a week late Friday or early Saturday.
When the 78-year-old man awoke at around 6 a.m. Saturday, he said a number of items were misplaced and scattered at his home on the 600 block of Eighth Street Southwest, according to a police report.
He added that he and his wife must have been sleeping when someone entered the home.
The apparent point of entry was a kitchen window that had its screen cut. The burglar or burglars than likely left through the backdoor with a number of DVDs and bottles of liquor.
Much of what was reported missing was found wrapped in a blanket in a back alleyway.
Last Wednesday, the man had reported a similar incident, with someone apparently cutting through his kitchen window to gain entrance.
No suspects have been identified in either case.
