Two property owners in Dexter reported Sunday that a car had driven through their yards and caused damage.

The two incidents are likely related, as are several others reported in Dodge and Olmsted counties, Sheriff Terese Amazi said Monday.

Authorities in Dodge County are looking at a 17-year-old suspect and a possible stolen vehicle, Amazi said.

At 32825 690th Ave. in Dexter, Paul Ulwelling, 70, reported that a car had driven through his electric fence — causing some cattle to go free — and smashed into a shed, causing about $400 in damage.

He also said the car caused about $200 of damage to his corn field and took out a mailbox, according to a sheriff’s report.

The loose cattle were retrieved.

Nathan Thompson, 47, of 29454 670th Ave., said the loose car smashed two gates and ran through a sheep pasture.

No animals were hit, but Thompson did report about $800 in damage to the gates.
