MINNEAPOLIS  — Police in Minneapolis are looking for the robbers who took cash from a stroke patient after a fundraiser.

Authorities say the fundraiser at Jimmy’s Bar was held to help the 45-year-old Andover woman pay for medical bills from a recent stroke and surgery. Police say the robbers took about $1,300 from the woman outside the bar Saturday night.

Sergeant Jesse Garcia tells the Star Tribune criminals have been known to scout fundraisers, attend them and steal from the person leaving with the cash.
