Diane Annette Hertle, 69, died Saturday morning, Nov. 27, 2010, at her home in Austin.
Diane Annette DeVaney was born April 18, 1941, to Emmett and Helen (Pappas) DeVaney in Austin. She attended Austin public schools, graduating in 1959. Diane married Clinton Hertle on Sept. 18, 1976, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
She worked at the Hormel Office until her retirement in 1994. Diane enjoyed her years at Lake Pepin with her family and friends as well as wintering in Carlsbad, Calif. She enjoyed talking on the phone, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her numerous friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Clinton of Austin; sons: Jon Nack, Austin, Texas; Jerry Nack, Richfield and Bob (Michelle) Nack, Austin; step-daughters: Sherry (Bill) Maloney, Chanhassen and Lori (Rich) Carlson, Plymouth; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers: Stanley (Velva) DeVaney, Flint, Mich. and Jeffrey DeVaney, Baxter; mother-in-law, Evelyn Hertle, Austin and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Helen DeVaney.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at Crane Community Chapel with Rev. Dale Christiansen officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call at the Worlein Funeral Home in Austin from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
