Thanh H. Nguyen, 51, died peacefully at his home in Austin Nov. 29, 2010.

He was born November 15, 1959 in My Tho, Vietnam where he grew up. He moved to Austin in 1975 where he attended Riverland College for two years, receiving his degree in auto mechanics. He married Hoi Nguyen in Nov. 1981. The couple owned and operated King Garden, China Wok and Golden Hoagie Restaurants. He also worked at HyVee for five years. He worked in sanitation at Hormel Foods, Corp. Thanh enjoyed spending time with friends and family, singing Karaoke and watching Vikings games.

He is survived by his wife, Hoi of Austin; daughter, Brenda Nguyen of Florida; son, Brian Nguyen of Florida; mother, Hiep Nguyen; a brother and three sisters in Vietnam.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Friends may greet the family from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment is at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com
