Mike Toth, D.O., occupational medicine and pain clinic physician at Austin Medical Center — part of Mayo Health System — is now a certified Aviation Medical Examiner by the Federal Aviation Administration for second and third class pilot.

Second class flight physicals are needed yearly for pilots flying for hire, and third class physicals are for pilots who fly non-commercially or recreationally as a hobby. Third class physicals are good for two or three years depending on the age of the pilot.
