An Austin woman will have a Dec. 18 pre-trial hearing for two aggravated forgery charges.
Patricia Rodriguez-Sanchez, 27, appeared in Mower County court Thursday for a contested omnibus hearing, in which the court decided they will let the defendant go to California to pick up her children before trial, pending approval from the bail-bonding agency.
Rodriguez-Sanchez’s trial would begin Jan. 11, 2010. She is not in custody but had been ordered to check in with the court on a regular basis.
The charges against Rodriguez-Sanchez stem from a June 12 search of her 1110 11th Ave. S.W. home that uncovered a number of fraudulent IDs and letters, according to a court complaint.
Authorities found a Quality Pork Processors “Employee of the Month” plaque from 2006 that had Rodriguez-Sanchez’s picture but the name “Lisa M. Salazar” on it. Other items were found in that name, including an IRS document, a Minnesota Health Care Program card for her 5-year old child and a state ID. Authorities also confirmed with Mower County Human Services that Rodriguez-Sanchez had been receiving health benefits since 2002.
Rodriguez-Sanchez came home just as detectives were leaving, and she told them three other people lived in the house, including Luis Alberto Sanchez-Perez, 18.
Authorities found a fraudulent state ID, Social Security card and Mexico driver’s license of Sanchez-Perez’s, as well as numerous QPP pay stubs falsely identifying him.
He has also been charged with two counts of aggravated forgery.
