The Hayfield girls basketball team won its third straight game when it handled Zumbrota/Mazeppa (0-3 overall) 54-28 in Hayfield Tuesday.

The Vikings (3-0 overall) were led by Alyssa Selk, who had a career-high 21 points in the win.

Hayfield led 34-10 at the half as it looked to run early.

“We tried to push it tonight and we cut down the turnovers, but we still missed quite a few shots,” Hayfield head coach Fred Kindschy said. “Against a good solid team, we may have to limit possessions, but this was a good game to push the ball and force some turnovers on defense.”
