The Southland boys basketball team couldn’t put it all together in a 63-44 loss to Rushford/Peterson in Adams Friday.

The Trojans (2-0 overall) hit nine threes on the night, including eight in the second half as they pulled away from the Rebels (0-3 overall).

“It was frustrating,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said. “We played hard, but we made a lot of fundamental mistakes. We’re still trying to get better.”

Southland got within six a couple of times in the second half, but it couldn’t get any closer.

“Every time we got close it seemed like we’d have a turnover that led to a three,” Thalberg said.

Southland scoring: Alan May, 12; Mike Goergen, 11; Decker Bendtsen, 8; Sam Noterman, 4; Sam Klaehn, 4; Nick Schmitz, 4; Brock Bendtsen, 1
