Senior guard Kirk Nelson poured in 28 points to the lead the LeRoy/Ostrander boys basketball team to a 74-68 win at Mabel/Canton (0-2 overall, 0-2 SEC) Friday.

L/O (1-2 overall, 1-1 sec) hit three three-pointers in the second half to seal its first win of the season.

“It took a team effort tonight,” L/O head coach Jason Jude said.

M/C’s center Steve Smith, who scored 26 points, missed a big part of the second half with foul trouble.
