A 1-month-old baby was found not breathing by its parents at Bremerton Apartments Monday morning around 6:30 a.m.

Police Chief Brian Krueger said the mother woke up to check on the baby and called police when she found it not breathing. The baby was transported to Austin Medical Center by ambulance and pronounced dead at the hospital.

No foul play is suspected, and there was no indication of trauma on the baby’s body. Krueger also said there was no indication the child had been ill or had suffered from distress prior to the incident.

The coroner requested an autopsy, which will be done in Ramsey County. Preliminary results of the autopsy will hopefully be available by Wednesday, Krueger said.

“Hopefully the autopsy will provide some answers,” said Krueger.

Names of the parents and the baby were not released.
