NFL Picks: Vikings don’t have much left
Published 9:05 pm Wednesday, December 15, 2010
Here are the picks:
San Francisco at San Diego
Pick: CHARGERS
Both teams still have playoff hopes, but only one has a chance to do anything in the postseason.
Kansas City at St. Louis
Pick: CHIEFS
If Matt Cassel comes back, the Chiefs’ offense should get rolling on the fast track in St. Louis. They’re potent running attack needs a legitimate quarterback to open running lanes.
Buffalo at Miami
Pick: DOLPHINS
Miami showed some heart in a win over the Jets and maybe they’ll finish strong.
Cleveland at Cincinnati
Pick: BROWNS
It was only a matter of time before Bengals receiver Terrel Owens went off on his coaches, which he did this week on his reality show.
He may be right, but sometimes it’s better to say nothing at all and let the chips fall where they may. It’s not like anybody thought the Bengals coaches were doing a good job any way.
Houston at Tennessee
Pick: TEXANS
Houston showed a lot in a late comeback against the Ravens. Unfortunately all the life was sucked out of them on an interception for a TD in OT. Still, I don’t think the Titans have anything left.
Philadelphia at N.Y. Giants
Pick: EAGLES
Mike Vick has a chance to prove all of this MVP talk is somewhat accurate. If he doesn’t show up big in this game, however, forget it.
Detroit at Tampa Bay
Pick: BUCS
After the Lions showed up on defense against my Packers last week, I can almost guarantee that they’ll roll over and give up over 20 points to the Bucs, so Tampa can knock Green Bay out of the wild card race.
New Orleans at Baltimore
Pick: RAVENS
I think weather will play a factor and the Ravens are a little more steady on the ground.
Arizona at Carolina
Pick: PANTHERS
The Cardinals got a big win last week, but I can’t pick an NFC West team on the road.
Washington at Dallas
Pick: COWBOYS
Both teams are finished, but both have still played decent.
Jacksonville at Indianapolis
Pick: COLTS
If Indy loses this one, they lose the division to the Jags and I don’t see that happening. Peyton Manning and company also have to be sick of all of these ‘what’s wrong with the Colts?’ stories on ESPN.
I don’t expect this one to be close.
Atlanta at Seattle
Pick: FALCONS
One of the best teams in the league against one of the worst.
New York Jets at Pittsburgh
Pick: STEELERS
Jets are in a free fall and even Rex Ryan’s ego can’t save them this time.
Denver at Oakland
Pick: RAIDERS
Oakland’s still got some fight in them.
Green Bay at New England
Pick: PATRIOTS
I wouldn’t put any faith in a banged up Green Bay team going into the best team’s house and winning. Especially since Matt Flynn is likely to be under center for the Pack.
Chicago at Minnesota
Pick: VIKINGS
One of these teams is headed for the postseason, and one of these teams has three injured quarterbacks, no home stadium and no hopes for the playoffs.
I think I’ll go with the team that still has a soul.
Last week: 8-8
