The Austin boys hockey team was the first to score, but it cooled off in a 7-3 loss at Dodge County (1-2 overall) Tuesday.

The Packers (1-3 overall) scored nine seconds into the game, but the Wildcats tied it up about 30 seconds later. Austin led 3-2 after one, but it couldn’t score again.

“In the first period we started out fantastic, but we let them right back in it and that kept happening,” Austin head coach Tim Peterson said. “After the first, we took some penalties and that had an effect on our offensive output.”
