Wahlin’s goal lifts Bruins past Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — Austin forward Brandon Wahlin netted a goal just 54 seconds into overtime as the Bruins beat Aberdeen (22-16-6 overall) 3-2 in overtime on the road Thursday.
After each team put up two goals in the first period, the game was remained tied through the second and third period.
John Kirby and CJ Smith scored in the first period for Austin.
Travis Bruggeman had 34 saves for the Bruins (23-14-4 overall).
The win puts Austin in a tie for third place in the NAHL Central.
