Monday’s city council meeting marked the end of an era.

Dick Pacholl voted for the last time as a council member, but if he has his way, it won’t be the last time he attends a meeting.

“I’ll miss you,” Pacholl said Monday to council members and city leaders, “but I’ll be down here to pester you once in a while.”

Pacholl served on the council over the course of 20 years, with an eight year break in his service. Even during his time off, Pacholl said he was still involved “giving them a tough time.”

Pacholl left the council with a few words of wisdom: No matter what the differences are, it’s important to work it out — together.

Though he has seen many city leaders come and go and has seen success in some of his visions, Pacholl said he never was able to bring all his ideas to fruition.

“I never got them to get Budweiser in the pop machines,” he said.
