14-year-old girl dies in Chanhassen crash

CHANHASSEN, Minn. — A 14-year-old girl is dead after the car she was riding in slid on an icy Chanhassen highway into the path of a sports utility vehicle.

According to the State Patrol, the car driven by 48-year-old father Paul Delmain slid sideways into the southbound lane.

An oncoming SUV swerved but hit the car’s front passenger door, where Rosie Delmain was sitting at about 8 p.m. Monday. She died and her father had minor injuries. They are from Eden Prairie.

The Star Tribune reports that four teens in the SUV were unhurt and one other teen in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. Everyone in both vehicles was wearing seat belts.
