It’s back — again.

More snow is expected Thursday afternoon into Friday, which could cause a few headaches as people begin traveling for Christmas weekend.

About two to four inches of snow is expected to fall tonight with an additional inch expected Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Higher totals are expected in select areas.

A winter weather advisory is slated to start at 6 p.m. Thursday and continue through noon Friday.

The snow totals will put the area closer to record snowfall totals for any month. With about 36 inches in December, many area cities are closing in on the snowiest month on record at about 42 inches.

While winds aren’t expected to alter visibility, there is a chance for light drifting.

Temperatures Thursday will reach as high as 26 degrees, followed by a high of 24 degrees on Friday.

Things are expected to clear up by Christmas day, with forecasts calling for clear skies and a high of 17 degrees. That weather is expected to continue through Wednesday, according to the NWS.
