Dorothy I. Teff, age 95, of Austin, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at Chauncey Apartments, Austin, where she resided. Dorothy Ilene Rabine was
born November 4, 1915 in Rochester, Minn. to Gustave and Olga (Acker) Rabine. She grew up in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1933. She married Maximillian Teff on June 10, 1939 in LaCrosse, Wis. She was employed by Hormel Foods for thirty years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Austin. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, dancing, bowling and golfing and liked to cook and entertain. She and Max lived in Austin for many years and wintered in Texas for 20 years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia (Ronald) Ashton, Rochester, Nancy (Lee) Wysong, Buffalo, New York; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren.. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustave and Olga Rabine; husband, Maximillian; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jean Teff, four sisters, five brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010 at Grace Lutheran Church in Austin with Rev. Rob Zahn officiating. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. The Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is in charge of arrangements.
