Karleen Kay (McCarville) Lawson, 64, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at her home.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. a mass of Christian burial will be at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Shane Deman officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 4 p.m. and a vigil at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Trinity Regional Cancer Center or Trinity Hospice.

Karleen Kay Point was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Laurens. In 1959 her family moved to Fort Dodge where she attended St. Edmond High School. On Nov. 28, 1964, Karleen was united in marriage to Gerald McCarville at Holy Rosary Church. Gerald passed away in 1995. On April 26, 1997, Karleen was united in marriage to Richard Lawson, and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. Besides being a homemaker, she volunteered for the St. Edmond Development Office for several years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, the Rosary Society and Trinity Regional Auxiliary. She also started the Iowa Head Injury Organization in 1983.

Karleen is survived by her husband, Rich; daughter, Annette Mueller and (Kurt), their children Alex, Bailey, and Andrew of Austin, Minn.; son, Rick McCarville (Pam), their children Andrew, Kaitlyn, and Madisyn of Fort Dodge; daughter, Jeanie Kerber (Jeff), their children Joseph, Joshua, and Elsa of Johnston; special sister-in-law, Jane Arhart (Randy), their children Ryan, Lindsay, and Ashley of Austin; Richard’s daughter, April Kelly (Tim), their children, Ashley, Gage, and Alexis of Fort Dodge; and siblings, Ed (Sandra) Point of Denison; Patricia (Dennis) Menke, Barbara (Mike) Mericle, and John (Rhonda) Point all of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. and Evelyn (Wolf) Point; and her first husband, Gerald E. McCarville.
