Cheryl Miller

Cheryl Jeanne (Lundene) Miller, age 58 of Duluth, Minn. formerly of Austin, Minn. died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at St. Mary’s Essentia Health, Duluth after a long battle with cancer.

She was born on Feb. 19, 1952 in Austin to Curtis and Maxine (Exe) Lundene. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Cheryl graduated from Austin High School in 1970 and then earned her AA degree from Austin Community College in 1972.

On Sept. 1, 1973, she married Dennis Neil Miller at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Austin. They later divorced.

Cheryl lived in many places including, Grand Meadow, Minn. and Duluth, Minnesota as well as Ashland, Ken. and Woodbridge, Va. She operated a home daycare in the many places that she lived. She returned to Duluth in 2004, where she was employed by United Health Care as a Claims Processor. Her hobbies included crafts, sewing, puzzles, and camping.

Survivors include her three children: Jennifer (Brett) Hoglund of Hermantown, Minn., Sarah (Kyle) Maher and Neil Miller, Duluth; four grandchildren: Bronson and Josephine Hoglund and Danica and Kurtis Maher; her mother Maxine Lundene, Austin; sisters: DeAnn Lundene of Onalaska, Wis. and Renae Lundene of Rochester, Minn.; former husband: Dennis Miller, Lyle, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her father, Curtis on Sept. 18, 1990 and her grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Rev. Glennys Knutson officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
