KINGSLAND — The Southland boys basketball team turned on its offensive firepower as it beat Kingsland (17-8 overall, 14-5 Three Rivers) on the road Tuesday.

Mike Goergen and Nick Schmitz each scored 16 second half points for the Rebels (16-9 overall, 12-7 Three Rivers), who outscored Kingsland 47-38 in the second half.

“We needed a good win like this against a good basketball team that beat us earlier this season,” Southland head coach Jon Thalberg said. “The first half was a pretty good defensive battle and there was a lot of offense in the second half.”
