United Way of Mower County wants to know about the needs and issues occurring in the households of Mower County residents. Starting Monday, residents will begin receiving telephone calls. All surveying will be completed by Sept. 19.
“The calls will come from Perspectives Consulting,” said Mandi Lighthizer-Schmidt, executive director. “They are the company that is conducting the telephone survey for United Way. It is our hope that residents will take the short, 10-minute survey, so that we can better understand the needs of the community. All surveys are anonymous.”
As part of the community assessment a household survey, which will be conducted over the phone. Residents will be polled at random and can expect a call on either their landline or cell phone. Questions encompass demographics, basic needs, transportation, housing, etc.
“This is not a solicitation call,” Lighthizer-Schmidt said. “We are looking to obtain good local data.”
United Way began the assessment process in February 2009 and will have a completed document in the spring of 2010.
