A 27-year-old Austin man was charged in Mower County Court after allegedly punching his roommate, throwing a beer bottle at him and hitting him with a chair.
Sebit Lokori was charged with second-degree assault Wednesday, a felony.
Police responded to a residence at the 900 block of Fourth Avenue NE, according to the court complaint.
A 33-year-old man reported Lokori hit him in the face and threw him to the ground. The victim told police he went outside and called for help. Two witnesses at the resident confirmed the attack.
According to the court complaint, Lokori had been drinking, admitted to hitting the victim and told the officer to arrest him. However, Lokori later denied the charges.
“I didn’t do anything,” Lokori said, according to the complaint. “Why are you doing this.”
Upon further questioning, Lokori admitted that he likely hit the victim, the complaint states.
If convicted, Lokori could face as much as seven years in jail and a $14,000 fine. His next court appearance is March 1.
