Arthur Jensen, 70

A memorial service for Arthur “Art” Jensen of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Home Chapel in Albert Lea. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate.

Arthur Allan Jensen, 70, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012. He was born on July 21, 1941, in Albert Lea, to Delmar Jensen and Edythe (Jensen) Hoverson. He attended school in Albert Lea before serving in the United States Army and completing a tour in Baumholder, Germany, in the early 1960s. After his return home, he worked for the Land O’ Lakes plant in Albert Lea for more than 30 years. After the plant closed Art worked as a Pinkerton Guard for Hudson Foods before retiring, and after retirement, he enjoyed working and spending time at the Next Step Clubhouse in Albert Lea.

He enjoyed the outdoors, cross-country skiing and anything to do with the military.

Art is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Jensen; mother, Edythe (Jensen) Hoverson; step-mother, Opal Jensen; and sister, Mary Lou Jackson.

He is survived by his sisters: DeAnna French of River Falls, Wis., Rebecca (Ron) Stepp of Rosemount, Pat Rumeliote of Mason City, Iowa, Patty Strand of Chaska, Julie Lovaas of Fargo, N.D., and Jeanette (Scott) Murphy of Billings, Mont.; many nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
