Not so fast.
The county board isn’t quite ready to approve contracts with Knutson Construction Services and Paul Johnson Architects to work on the joint Law Enforcement Center and Government Center remodel.
Knutson is still slated to be the construction manager and Johnson the architect, but County Attorney Kristen Nelsen said she has some minor wording fixes that need to be made first.
“Neither of these contracts has any deal-breakers,” Nelsen said.
“It’s little things,” she added. “There’s nothing big.”
After a few adjustments to the contracts, the deals are likely to be approved at the board’s March 6 meeting.
The county’s cost for the Government Center remodel and Law Enforcement Center projects is estimated at $4.6 million — about $3.8 million for the government center remodel and about $800,000 for the county’s share of remodeling the Law Enforcement Center. Including all costs — county and non-county — County Coordinator Craig Oscarson said the entire project is closer to $6 million.
