The Austin Area Art Center will host a children’s class on recycling and reusing.

The class, hosted by Kim Finnegan, is for third-grade and up, and costs $12 for members and $15 for non-members.

During this fun-filled workshop, Finnegan will help students open their minds to new possibilities. Bits and pieces of odds and ends, recyclables and found objects will be used in the creation of unique art.

The purpose of this class is to raise awareness of the need to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible. The students are asked to bring any of their used, recycled, natural and found treasures and see what can be done with them.

The class will be held at the Austin Area Art Center in the Oak Park Mall 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 3.

For more information, call the Center at 507-433-8451, find it on Facebook or visit its website at www.austinareaartcenter.com. Regular business hours are Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required.
