An invitation is extended to area visual and performing artists and crafters to participate in the Austin Community Arts in the Park to be held Sunday, Aug. 30 in the bandshell and pavilion. The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. Set up and take down are outside those hours.

Performing artists, poetry readers, mimes, musical artists, visual artists, ceramic artists, jewelers, woodcarvers and crafters from area counties are needed for this event to promote CDs, concerts, performances, their organizations/groups, sell their creations or simply give demonstrations of what they do.

All visual arts and crafts must be handcrafted by the exhibiting artist; commercially produced items will not be accepted. Prints of original work by the displaying artists as well as commercially produced CDs and videos of artists performing for the celebration will be allowed.

The cost to secure exhibit space is $15; table and space is $20; and electricity will be provided for a $5 fee.

To register for this event, pick up forms at Austin Area Art Center during regular business hours Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.; Friday, noon to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
