Elaine Kay Vance, 59

Funeral services for Elaine Kay (Radfan) Vance will be Tuesday in Travelers Rest, S.C. Elaine died Friday, March 2, 2012, of breast cancer at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C. She was 59 years old.

Elaine was born on Feb. 15, 1953, to Rudy and Marvel (Krueger) Radfan. She graduated from Alden-Conger High School in 1971. She attended Albert Lea Vocational School and Austin Community College.

She married James Wenz. She had two children: Rachelle (Shelly) and James (Jamer). She divorced and later married Jerry Vance.

She was organist for several local churches and an advocate for community action. She also ran for Minnesota House of Representatives and worked for MediaCom, Ford Credit and several other positions.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry; children: Shelly (Martin) Radfan-Tulashie of Detroit and their children: Nina and Evan, and James (Cindy) Wenz of Travelers Rest, S.C., and their children: Kenzie and Lizzy; and brother, Dennis Radfan of Travelers Rest, S.C. Elaine is also survived by step-children and step-grandchildren, aunts, cousins and special friends: Karen Callahan, Amanda Evans, Desiree Greer, Sandy Doppelhammer and Cheryl Cummins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elaine loved karaoke and was never afraid to try anything new. She had a great love for her grandchildren.
